Colophon

How this site was made.

The type, the colours, the stack, and the people and projects this site leans on.

Type

Type

Two typefaces, each with one job. Spectral (opens in a new tab), by Production Type, carries everything you read: headings and body. JetBrains Mono (opens in a new tab) carries everything the machine says: navigation, buttons, kickers, dates, and badges. That split is the site’s one signature. Both are released under the SIL Open Font License (opens in a new tab) and are self-hosted here so that nothing is fetched from a third party when the page loads.

Colour

Colour

The palette is called Ink & Bic Blue: ballpoint ink on paper. Ink is the text, Paper is the page, and Bic Blue is the only colour that is ever clickable. Two more colours have exactly one job each. Saffron marks status — a badge that says Archived or New — and is never a link. Burgundy is editorial — the spine of a library card, an epigraph — and is never a link either. If something is blue, you can click it; if it is not, you cannot. The whole system fits in that sentence.

Stack

Stack

The site is a static Next.js (opens in a new tab) application written in TypeScript, styled with Tailwind (opens in a new tab), and deployed on Vercel (opens in a new tab). The domain is registered and served through Amazon Route 53; mail runs on Google Workspace. Page views are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics (opens in a new tab), which sets no cookies and collects no personal data. There are no advertising pixels, no cookies, and no comments. The only thing stored in your browser is your light-or-dark choice. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

Credits

Icons are from Lucide (opens in a new tab), with brand marks from Simple Icons (opens in a new tab) and one boxing glove from Phosphor (opens in a new tab). Two playlist covers reproduce works of art; their credit lines are on the Playlists page.

I designed and built this site with Claude (opens in a new tab), Anthropic’s AI assistant, between August and September 2026 — the design system, the pages, and most of the code came out of that collaboration, with me deciding and editing at every step. The words are mine. The site is owned and operated by HHHTDP LLC.
